Meet the 2009 Naples Realtor of the Year
Michele Harrison, MBA, CRS, CRB, TRC, MIRM
After visiting family in Naples during the late 1970's, Michele Harrison fell passionately in love with every aspect of this gulf front community. From the boating, to the dining and unique shopping in downtown Naples, Michele could not get enough of the sunny days and balmy summer nights.
Inspired by her tropical surroundings, Michele sought to maintain the charm and beauty of Naples, while helping others find just the right luxury community to build their perfect dream.
In 2005, Harrison served as the president of the Naples Area Board of Realtors (NABOR), where she helped implement the current Sunshine MLS system which helps all Naples Realtors streamline their search for the perfect home. In Naples, real estate and development go hand-in-hand, so Michele took a leadership role serving as the president of the Collier Building Industry Association (CBIA) in 2007. Seeing the slowing of the housing market, Michele used her business and marketing skills to help local builders and trade workers develop a strategy to deal with the economic downturn successfully.
Additionally, Harrison has been an active leader in the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce. During her tenure, her goal was to encourage and recruit leaders to help keep Naples a fun place to live, work and play. She is a graduate of Leadership Collier 2007, which of course was the best class, and has volunteered on many committees.
Michele has volunteered for the annual Relay for Life and walks in support of both family and friends who are thankfully living in remission. She recently joined the board of directors for Naples Equestrian Challenge, where she hopes to share her love of horses and help children living with special needs one stride at a time.
While Harrison can easily be found with the latest in high tech gadgets and social media, her true pas-sion is sharing time with her family and friends enjoying one of the many amenities that life in Naples offers - boating, golfing, shopping, dining, art festivals and farmers markets.
